Dear #moinamaste family,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce a long pause for Moi Namaste. After four years of independently building and serving this community, it feels like the right time for both me and the company to take a much-needed breather.
At the end of August, we will be moving out of our Helsinki showroom, and by the end of September this year, we will also be closing our online store for the foreseeable future.
Moi Namaste is the most beautiful love letter I have ever written.
It is impossible to express how meaningful this time, experience, and community have been for my personal growth. In a world where immigrants often feel stretched and resourceless, I feel proud to have built this incredible community and business as an Indian in Finland.
Working within the sustainability movement, it has been my greatest joy to share stories of change and collaborate with women-benefitting organizations, and women-led brands. We together have created a unique, global sisterhood that believes the fashion industry (and one day, maybe even the world) can be both people- and planet-positive.
Of course, there is so much work still to be done. For
those who continue to make this world a better place through their words and actions - I adore you. You are my heroes.
As for me, I will be back. My passion for community, solving social challenges, and supporting women remains unwavering. During this pause, I hope to rest and reimagine the role I get to play in this beautiful world of ours.
Until then, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the women artisans who have brought me the most joy from day one, to the brands that have shared their exquisite craftsmanship, and most importantly, to our community who have invested their hard-earned
money in co-creating a better fashion world with us.
I sincerely hope Moi Namaste has been a place of creativity, hope, and inspiration for you. Over the next three months, I invite you to take home a piece of craftsmanship co-created with incredible women’s organizations in India.
